Greatest Dad of All

Happy Birthday Dad,

I’m sorry at times I drive you mad,

But I thank God for my awesome dad,

And all the love from him I get.

At times you are strict and stern,

Even Beauty dare not move or turn,

But when you take off your iron mask,

You’ll give us everything we ask.

TV, you never seem to spare,

I guess Manda would want her share,

But always whenever you are not there,

Both of us will be on the big sofa chair.

My studies are your main concern,

To be a good doctor I will learn,

Not because of the money I can earn,

But souls I could save from hell to burn.

I’m amazed by your Gideon passion,

Serving God was your only mission,

And winning souls with God’s provision,

Someday I’ll be like you with a greater vision.

Swimming ten laps in the morning sounds crazy,

Your ping pong skills never cease to amaze me,

Well, I’m training here as hard as a bee,

Will beat you flat, just you wait and see.

Dad, your hair looks just great,

Don’t worry if it turns a little grey,

You are already handsome all the way,

And mum is lucky to have you in her bay.

As age catches up,

Human body does wear out,

It’s normal for BP to get up,

Just relax and work it out.

Thank you for paying all my bills,

And taking care of me when I am ill,

I promise to be good which I will,

And live by grace following God’s will.

You were so busy yet you came to India to see me,

So many Goa beaches we went and see,

We ate so much curry, fish and chapatti,

Luckily your stomach did not break free. Hehe!!

If there’s a best dad award,

You would already receive that,

For being such a wonderful dad,

Standing by me when times are bad.

I thank God for March 28th this day,

For 52 years ago this was a special day,

For without you, I won’t be here today,

I love you dad, Blessed Happy Birthday!

It was smooth when He's with me

This might be a little late.

But I really wanna share this.

We have all kinds of exams in our medical studies,

from small to major to external.

Well, in my 2nd internal...

I just can’t believe it.

My most feared Anatomy Viva exam turned out to be smooth.

Smooth sailing. I could answer most of the Questions.

The feeling is so good.

Before the exam I was just so confused and lost.

Because so much to cover.

(Being creative as usual (",))

(I wonder what slide is this. kent might know better. Hehe!!)

The scope is too wide.

From Histology to surface marking,

Form organ identifying to radiology,

From embryology to all the gross anatomy.

Wow. It’s just nuts to cover all.

But finals will be even scarier.

I told myself I can’t do this alone.

I’m gonna die half-way. Haha!

So I prayed really hard for God to intervene.

I asked God to give me good professors,

To ask me easy questions,

To give good marks…

And guess what,

HE DID!!

(Our usual anatomy practical dissection..Cherrs!! )

My morning anatomy practical turn out ok.

I got d upper limb, flexor compartment of the forearm,

Which was apparently my favorite part

Because we used to play with the cadavers arm.

Sling it here and there when we first came to uni.

When I got it I started thanking God in my little heart.

Then I wrote some short notes in a paper in with time were given.

Pronator teres, flexor carpi radialis…bla..bla..bla…

Next I got the weirdest organ.

Never in my small mind have I ever thought of getting this.

SIGMOID colon and rectum.

Wow. God really has a sense of humour.

I took up the colon with my bare hands.

No surgical gloves were provided.

But I didn’t cared much.

Exam is more important.

When I started holding the organ in my hand,

All these points about the colon and rectum just popped out.

Cool.

I only recalled reading through the rectum once and very briefly only.

I was really amazed.

Not by my intelligence but by God’s help.

Then for my afternoon viva I was confident

Because I know my God will also help me.

So I went back my hostel, I had two hours lunch break before viva starts.

I spent nearly an hour reading d book of JOB.

Just random.

And was even more motivated.

Of course I did look through my altas and text book too.

Then later during exam,

I bet u could guess what happened.

It was also smooth and chilled.

I got the heart, rectus femoris muscle, ribs, pelvis, spleen, subscapularis…

Embryo I got sperm, fertilization, development of aortic arches, ovarian cycle…

Radio was a little weird, I got head and neck X-ray, which we stil haven’t learn,

Luckily I got to change the x-ray film. Haha!

All in all it was a pleasant viva practical exam.

All thanks to my awesome creator,

Wonderful counselor,

Great provider,

Faithful master,

And my best friend,

Jesus Christ.

All credit goes to YOU man…

Nice team work with had back there.

Cool.

(Some people say after you dissect, you won't feel like eating meat..but this is my bak-kut-teh..(",))

More 2 Life

More to life
Do you want more to life?
Is life just what is seems to be?Books, stress, exams, money, carrier, fame?
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

In Matthew 16:26,
“What good will it be for a man if he
gains the whole world,
Yet
forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Most of the things we do today are just temporary.
You think your Anatomy Netter’s Atlas will last forever?
Nope.
Yet we are spending so much time with it.
To pass the exam so to say.
But is life just about passing exams?
Or there is more to that?

Being a rich eventually sounds like a big dream.
Who doesn’t want to be rich and famous?
There are so many Bill-gates wannabes around.

You see,
God made everything.
God made us.
He knows us better than we know ourselves.
He knows that our heart will long for all these things in life.
It’s true.
That’s why in His Word of Life (Bible),
He says what good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world,
But loses his soul eventually.

God wants us to focus not on these earthly things.
He is more concern about your soul.
Two times he mention the word soul in one short verse.
That shows how important your soul is to God.
He wants your soul to be saved.
Not your knowledge, money or carrier.
It’s so clearly stated that it would be such a waste
if a person is so successful in life but in the end leads to nothing.

My friends, there is definitely more to life in this life.
At one point of life,
Everybody will experience a vacuum in life.
Where you find your life empty and wanting to find the purpose in life.
Wanting to know why you exist in this planet earth.
Well this vacuum can only be filled by God and nothing else.

That’s why we chose the title More to Life for our CF.
Because there’s something so much bigger in life.
Something that you can’t afford miss in this lifetime,
Which is,
God’s love and eternal life in heaven.
If you missed this boat, you’ll be left behind,
Forever…

Do you want to gain to world, and lose your soul?

It is big news when someone we know loses a part of his or her body.
We speak in hushed and somber tones when someone loses their mind,
their kidney, part of a lung, one of their limbs,
we even laugh at people who loses their hair and teeth.
How do we feel, however, when we see someone losing their soul?
You tell me…

Once someone told me,
“If I believe in God and life after death and you do not,
And if there is no God, we both lose when we die.
However, if there is a God, you still lose and I gain everything.”

So it’s up to you now…

Fit for a King

Every time I sing on stage,

I tell God that I’m gonna make Him proud,

And I’m gonna give my best, my sweat.

I want to point people to Him.

Making them feel the presence of God.

I love to sing.

Especially for the King.

The king of kings.

My KING.

It’s my honor to do that.

(Passion conference 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.

I was just in front of Chris Tomlin. He was amazing. He inspired me a lot.)

I wanna be like Chris Tomlin.

Touching millions by God’s love through his music.

God will make a way for me.

Can’t wait for that day to come.

I will hope and wait upon you Lord.

Use me.

Use my talent that you gave me.

Multiple it.

For I want give you something back in return.
